Description:
The Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Working Group II (WGII) assesses and reports on how worldwide climate change has been increasingly affecting marine, freshwater and terrestrial ecosystems and ecosystem services, water and food security, settlements and infrastructure, health and well-being, and economies and culture, especially through compound stresses and events. This database compiles the relevant datasets used to produce final figures and tables that summarize the assessments of observed and projected impacts, which brings together the relevant data underpinning graphic outputs from the impact assessments across individual sectoral, regional and global assessments.
In the IPCC WGII AR6, the assessment of the impacts of climate change is based on scientific literature and accompanied by attention to and incorporation of Indigenous knowledge, local knowledge and associated scholars. The following summary terms are used to describe the available evidence: limited, medium or robust; and for the degree of agreement: low, medium or high. A level of confidence is expressed using five qualifiers: very low, low, medium, high and very high. For a given evidence and agreement statement, different confidence levels can be assigned, but increasing levels of evidence and degrees of agreement are correlated with increasing confidence.
