Description:
The IPCC AR6 Risk Assessment Database brings together the relevant datasets underpinning findings from the risk assessments across individual sectoral, regional, and global assessments featured in the Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The database contains one Excel workbook file, with fourteen spreadsheets. Each spreadsheet contains their corresponding traceability details.
The graphic output of these risk assessments is in the form of Burning Embers. ‘Burning Embers’ is a colloquial term for the diagrams that show the levels of concern that scientists have about the consequences of climate change. In particular, the diagrams show how this level of concern, expressed as risk, increases with a given hazard such as global temperature rise. These assessments are primarily based on peer-reviewed literature, that is, it is limited to the regions and phenomena for which such studies are available.
