processing or treatment: Following an ASI (activity – structure – intensity)
decompositional analysis, changes in energy flows for the year 2050 in the LED
scenario are compared to 2020 base year values, and changes decomposed by two
geographical regions (Global North, Global South) and by sector (transport,
building, and materials/industry). Totals are given for each step of the
conversion cascade from primary energy, to final energy, useful energy, and
services delivered and both for ex ante (without changes) and ex post (after
changes). Decomposed changes by region and sector are shown as negative or
positive values depending on whether they increase or decrease absolute values.
Combined these changes equal the differences between ex ante and ex post
absolute values.
Purpose:
Data used by Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) authors and
supplied for archiving to MetadataWorks Ltd by the Technical Support Unit (TSU)
